Statement of Faith
What I Believe Doctrinally
Disciple of Messiah exists to proclaim the good news of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah and to call people into faithful discipleship rooted in the full story of Scripture.
The following statements summarize the foundational beliefs that guide the teaching and resources found throughout this site.
1. The Authority of Scripture
I believe the Bible — both the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and the Apostolic Writings (New Testament) — are the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
It is trustworthy in all it affirms and serves as the final authority for faith, doctrine, and life.
2. The One True God
I believe in one God — the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — Creator of heaven and earth.
He is holy, righteous, merciful, and faithful to His covenant promises throughout all generations.
3. Messiah Yeshua (Jesus)
I believe Yeshua of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the world.
He is:
Fully human and fully divine
Born according to the promises of Scripture
Sinless in life
Crucified for our atonement
Bodily raised from the dead
Exalted at the right hand of God
He alone is Lord and King.
4. Salvation by Grace
I believe salvation is the gift of God, given by grace through faith in Messiah alone.
Forgiveness of sins, justification, and reconciliation with God come not by human merit but through the atoning work of Yeshua.
This salvation is offered to both Jew and Gentile alike.
5. The Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit is given to all who belong to Messiah.
He regenerates, indwells, empowers, convicts, teaches, and sanctifies believers, forming them into faithful disciples.
The Spirit is also the promised gift of the New Covenant and serves as a foretaste and down payment of the age to come — a present assurance of the full redemption, resurrection, and covenant restoration that will be revealed at the return of Messiah.
6. The People of God
I believe all who trust in Messiah are joined together in one redeemed community rooted in God’s covenant faithfulness.
Through Messiah, both Jew and Gentile share equal standing before God — united in salvation, assurance, and inheritance.
I affirm that the promises given to Israel are irrevocable, and that a partial hardening remains within God’s redemptive plan as He patiently calls all to repentance.
Gentiles are graciously grafted into Israel’s covenant hope through faith, and together all who belong to Messiah await the full restoration that will be revealed at His return.
7. The Kingdom of God
I believe Messiah proclaimed the Kingdom of God and inaugurated redemption through His first coming.
I also believe the fullness of the Kingdom awaits His return, when He will reign as King, restore creation, and establish righteousness on the earth.
8. The Resurrection and the Age to Come
I believe in the future resurrection of the dead and the renewal of all things.
Through Messiah’s death and resurrection, this hope has been secured and confirmed — the firstfruits and guarantee of the life to come.
The faithful will inherit eternal life in the age to come, dwelling in the restored creation under Messiah’s reign.
9. The New Covenant
I believe God promised a New Covenant through the prophets — first spoken to the house of Israel and the house of Judah — and inaugurated through Messiah’s atoning work.
Through His blood, forgiveness of sins is secured, hearts are renewed, and God’s Spirit is given to His people.
Yet the fullness of New Covenant realization awaits the return of Messiah, when its promises will be brought to completion in the age to come.
10. The Return of Messiah
I believe Yeshua will return bodily to judge the nations, vindicate the righteous, and bring the fullness of God’s kingdom purposes to completion.
Having been raised and exalted, He is seated at the right hand of God — awaiting the time when His enemies will be made His footstool and His reign will be revealed in its fullness upon the earth.
Our Shared Hope
I affirm the historic confession of the apostles:
That Yeshua is Lord,
that He died and rose again,
and that through Him God is redeeming the world.
My desire is to live as faithful disciples in the present age while awaiting the restoration of all things in the age to come.
As disciples and followers of Jesus, we are called to lives of repentance, obedience, and covenant faithfulness — walking in the commands of God not as a means of earning righteousness, but as an expression of allegiance, devotion, and transformed life in Messiah.
